This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +24 more states.
• Design and oversee comprehensive data solutions in cloud-native environments, mainly utilizing AWS and Databricks, encompassing ingestion, processing, storage, access, and governance.
• Establish and uphold scalable architectural patterns and reference implementations for standard data workflows and platform integrations.
• Convert business requirements into scalable, sustainable, and secure data architectures in collaboration with product and delivery teams.
• Create and maintain solution diagrams, data flow models, design specifications, and various architecture documentation.
• Spearhead project initiation and discovery by shaping architectures, estimating efforts, pinpointing risks, and directing implementation strategies.
• Develop data platform solutions for proposals, RFPs, and client engagements to support Business Development efforts.
• Ensure solution architecture aligns with enterprise data strategy, security standards, and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Software Engineers to guide implementation and maintain architectural consistency.
• Conduct architecture reviews and technical validation for data-centric projects and platforms.
• Offer mentorship and thought leadership within the Data Team.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in roles such as solution architecture, data engineering, or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to architect and lead modern data platforms utilizing AWS services, including S3, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, and EMR; Databricks; and Spark.
• Knowledge of structured and unstructured data patterns, including streaming, batch processing, and real-time analytics.
• Strong grasp of data modeling, data governance, and metadata management.
• Experience in designing secure, scalable APIs and data services for both internal and external consumers.
• Proficiency in architecture documentation and tools such as Lucidchart and Draw.io, including sequence, context, and data flow diagrams.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Capability to lead solution efforts in pre-sales or discovery contexts.
• Solid understanding of compliance and security practices for sensitive data, particularly in healthcare or government sectors.
