This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design and develop solutions for data management and governance utilizing Databricks and Unity Catalog.

• Ensure that datasets are accurately classified, documented, secured, and effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

• Assist in data architecture and design choices by assessing the scalability, maintainability, and performance of solutions.

• Create and implement standards for data governance tagging, metadata, and classification frameworks.

• Establish and enforce governance requirements across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the medallion architecture.

• Implement and sustain column-level masking, row-level security, and dynamic access controls.

• Develop and refine data pipelines utilizing SQL and Spark.

• Collaborate with technical teams, data owners, security stakeholders, and business partners to align competing requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A BS/BA degree with 6 years of direct production experience in Databricks and Unity Catalog, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proven experience in designing data governance policies, tagging, and metadata standards.

• In-depth knowledge of the medallion architecture and how metadata, sensitivity, and access requirements develop across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

• Experience in implementing column masking, row-level security, and dynamic access controls.

• Ability to resolve conflicting requirements among stakeholders.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Spark.

• Expertise in defining pipeline configurations and data contracts declaratively (e.g., YAML) as version-controlled, enforceable artifacts.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity challenges, OCSF, and threat intelligence is preferred.
