Senior Data Scraping Engineer, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of comprehensive data extraction processes across intricate websites.

• Provide structured datasets that are complete, accurate, and reliable.

• Utilize tools and custom workflows to enhance data collection, validation, and task execution.

• Extract information from dynamic and interactive web sources, including content rendered by JavaScript.

• Modify scraping strategies in response to evolving site behaviors and structures.

• Ensure data quality through validation checks, consistency controls across sources, formatting standards, and systematic verification methods.

• Scale up scraping operations for extensive datasets by employing efficient batching or parallelization techniques.

• Monitor failures and ensure stability against minor changes in site structures.

• Employ tools such as Apify, OpenRouter, and other technologies within Tendem project workflows.

• Work autonomously on freelance project assignments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development (required).

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is advantageous.

• Solid technical foundation and practical experience in scripting, automation, and data extraction workflows.

• Extensive experience with Python web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or similar), including dynamic content handling (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and API usage via proxies.

• Proven ability to extract data from complex structures (hierarchies, archived pages, inconsistent HTML).

• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, resulting in structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).

• Demonstrated experience managing anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker) as part of real workflows.

• Practical experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter, or similar) applied to automation tasks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.

• Self-motivated work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

• Proficiency in English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher (required).
