
Senior Data Science Advisor – Pricing & Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop models to uncover opportunities for pricing and underwriting partners
• Conduct feature engineering, model creation, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance utilizing medical, prescription drug, utilization management, and third-party data
• Contribute to thorough analytics for pricing and underwriting
• Implement special projects aimed at enhancing Commercial Healthcare underwriting
• Generate actionable insights and recommendations through data science and advanced analytics for business leaders
• Regularly communicate progress with business stakeholders and senior leadership
• Assess and utilize current analytic tools and methodologies to modernize pricing and underwriting functions
• Ensure that solutions provide long-term value and align with existing processes
• Partner with business leaders to design, initiate, and evaluate test-and-learn pilots
• Create models employing GLMs, machine learning, clustering, LLMs, and other sophisticated techniques
• Produce comprehensive, well-documented analytical deliverables
• Over 5 years of relevant Data Science experience within a healthcare-related setting
• Solid foundation in statistics, machine learning, and model development
• Experience in deploying machine learning or predictive models to production or cloud environments
• Proficient in Python, SQL, Git, Keras, and TensorFlow
• Familiarity with healthcare data, including claims, EHR, and laboratory information
• Experience adhering to best programming practices, producing clean, well-documented, and structured code
• Capability to conduct peer reviews
• Ability to advocate for thorough documentation and logging practices
• Competence to manage projects from conception to completion, encompassing scoping, ideation, development, and production
• Skill in independently delivering clear and well-structured presentations for both technical and business audiences
• Ability to formulate data-science-specific project objectives within broader project deliverables
• Proficiency in communicating changes in timelines, rationale, and objectives to ensure deadlines are met
• Reliable internet connection via cable broadband or fiber optic service with a minimum of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed when working from home
• Master’s or PhD in a STEM-related discipline is preferred
