Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Convert stakeholder business inquiries into clearly defined analytical challenges and communicate insights and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Investigate, cleanse, and verify data from various sources; create dependable datasets and features for analysis and modeling.

• Construct, train, and assess statistical and machine learning models.

• Design and evaluate experiments such as A/B tests and establish metrics to measure business impact.

• Collaborate with client data and engineering teams to implement models and analyses into production and monitor their performance over time.

• Develop clean, tested, and reproducible code while documenting assumptions, methodologies, and results.

• Work with team members to maintain visibility of progress and identify risks early.

• Collaborate with a Pyyne Project Manager and the client's data lead on a new project involving a major US-based e-commerce retailer.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar applied machine learning or advanced analytics position.

• Proficient in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, or similar) and SQL.

• Strong grounding in statistics and machine learning, encompassing model selection, validation, and experimental design.

• Proven ability to transition analyses or models from exploration to practical use by stakeholders, as well as explaining outcomes to non-technical audiences.

• Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written, for daily interactions with client stakeholders.

• Experience in e-commerce, retail, or manufacturing scenarios, including demand forecasting, pricing, or customer analytics.

• Familiarity with deploying and monitoring models in production (MLOps) on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Knowledge of modern data stack tools such as dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.

• Proficient with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.

• Previous experience in a consulting or client-facing role.

• Candidates must be based remotely in Brazil or within the Buenos Aires metropolitan area in Argentina.

• Fluent English is essential and non-negotiable.
