Senior Data Product Manager, Agriculture

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities for agricultural data products, which encompass pipelines, canonical data models, APIs, and shared data services.

• Recognize common data requirements across DTN’s agriculture portfolio and convert them into scalable, reusable platform functionalities.

• Prioritize investments based on customer value, commercial potential, data quality, technical feasibility, and long-term scalability.

• Assess new datasets and capabilities for strategic alignment, differentiation, commercialization potential, and support for analytics, machine learning, and AI applications.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, and Product teams to convert customer and product requirements into scalable data solutions.

• Lead data initiatives from the discovery and definition phases to delivery, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

• Establish requirements for data quality, coverage, freshness, reliability, governance, and accessibility.

• Foster alignment and resolve trade-offs across intricate data initiatives that span multiple products, systems, and teams.

• Define success metrics related to data quality, reliability, adoption, operational efficiency, customer value, and commercial impact.

• Utilize product performance, customer insights, and stakeholder feedback to enhance DTN’s data products continuously.

• Identify opportunities for expanding the role of agricultural data in analytics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI.

• Assist in creating a trusted data foundation that ensures agricultural data is reliably discoverable, understandable, and usable by both humans and AI systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of Product Management experience, including responsibility for complex data, platform, or B2B SaaS products.

• Proven experience leading products from strategy and discovery through to delivery and continuous optimization.

• Strong product judgment coupled with business acumen.

• Ability to balance customer value, commercial potential, technical complexity, and long-term platform strategy.

• Experience in managing data-intensive products that involve data pipelines, APIs, integrations, analytics, or data platforms.

• Strong knowledge of modern data architectures, including data lakes and warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, cloud infrastructure, data modeling, and governance.

• Experience collaborating closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, and Data Science teams.

• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Understanding of data requirements for machine learning and AI applications, encompassing data quality, metadata, context, governance, and reliable access.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical, product, commercial, and executive audiences.

• Proven ability to influence strategy and foster alignment without direct authority.

• Strong prioritization and execution capabilities across complex, cross-team initiatives.

• Experience in agriculture, ag-tech, data platforms, market intelligence, geospatial technology, or another data-intensive sector (standout qualification).

• Familiarity with agricultural data, such as farm and field data, crop production, weather, markets, agronomy, or agricultural supply chains (standout qualification).

• Experience in developing data products that support analytics, predictive models, machine learning, or AI (standout qualification).

• Experience with geospatial data, predictive analytics, or AI-ready data infrastructure (standout qualification).
