Senior Data Governance Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and execute the enterprise data governance framework across OneLake and Fabric workspace layers, encompassing cataloging, lineage, ownership, and access control.

• Establish and uphold data cataloging standards for Bronze/Silver/Gold assets, including Lakehouse tables, Warehouse objects, and Semantic Model entities.

• Create comprehensive end-to-end data lineage from ERP, CTRM, and SAP source systems through transformation layers to the final reporting data products.

• Develop and implement data quality rules and validation frameworks across ingestion and transformation layers, integrated with Fabric pipeline execution.

• Define naming conventions, data classification standards, and workspace-level access control policies that align with Fabric governance capabilities.

• Collaborate with SAP S/4HANA and CTRM integration workstreams to document source-system metadata and lineage for critical data domains.

• Develop and spearhead the master data management strategy for shared entities across trading, finance, and logistics.

• Produce governance documentation, data stewardship process guides, and training materials for client data owners and analysts.

• Provide advisory support during Weeks 2–18 of a 26-week enterprise data warehouse implementation for a global commodities trading and supply chain organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data architecture with practical governance framework implementations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Azure or Fabric governance capabilities.

• Experience with Microsoft Purview is a significant advantage for OneLake/Fabric cataloging and lineage.

• Solid background in data lineage, metadata management, and enterprise-scale data quality frameworks.

• Familiarity with financial or commodity trading data domains and multi-source, cross-domain governance environments.

• Proven experience in defining stewardship processes and collaborating with business owners to operationalize governance policies.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, data, or business-related field, or equivalent experience.

• Preferred hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview for Fabric/Azure data cataloging, classification, and lineage scanning.

• Data governance certification such as DAMA CDMP or equivalent is preferred.

• Experience in financial services, commodity trading, or global supply chain data environments is preferred.

• Background in master data management across ERP and CTRM source systems is preferred; experience with SAP MDG or similar is a plus.
