Data Governance Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the daily governance activities related to cataloging, lineage, and data classification/tagging processes.

• Collaborate with the data governance program lead and solution architects to ensure consistent process adoption across various domains.

• Aid data stewards in adopting tool-based governance processes and monitor their implementation.

• Implement governance standards and control-based procedures effectively.

• Generate evidence of risk and audit regarding the execution of governance workflows.

• Create process-oriented SOPs, user manuals, and training materials.

• Contribute to the development and execution of a strategic data governance roadmap.

• Oversee the timely execution of data cataloging, lineage, and sensitivity tagging processes using Collibra, MS Purview, and other governance platforms.

• Define and assist with the technical design, configuration, and deployment of governance platforms.

• Develop and sustain SOPs, user manuals, and training for users.

• Onboard and provide support to data stewards, ensuring adherence to governance workflows.

• Collaborate with compliance, risk, and audit teams to assess control effectiveness and prepare necessary documentation.

• Monitor, evaluate, and maintain the integrity of data catalog, lineage products/assets, process workflows, and marketplace content.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing or automating governance workflows and improving user experience.

• Upgrade system components for better scalability, performance, and self-service capabilities.

• Assess and pilot AI-driven governance solutions.

• Engage in agile backlog/sprint planning, prioritization, delivery reviews, and retrospectives.

• Promote a collaborative and growth-focused team culture while upholding organizational values, ethics, and compliance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and platform DevOps administration.

• Practical experience with governance workflow execution in Collibra DIP or comparable platforms/applications.

• Experience in creating reports or dashboards for governance and KPI monitoring is preferred.

• Familiarity with governance frameworks (DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, NIST) and principles of data quality.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills; capable of partnering across business, risk, and technology teams.

• Excellent analytical, planning, and communication abilities, with a talent for effectively collaborating with internal and external business and IT teams.

• A mindset focused on continuous learning and innovation, particularly in AI-enabled data management and governance solutions.

• Willingness and ability to learn modern technologies.

• Experience in Risk Management, Information Security, Privacy, and Compliance is an advantage.

• Direct experience with industry frameworks, including DMBOK, EDM DCAM, or EDM CDMC is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with data analytics and BI tools.

• Knowledge of cloud data technologies such as AWS and Snowflake.

• Possess strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Successful completion of a background investigation, which may include a credit check for certain positions within the organization.
