Senior Data Engineer, Business Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +11 more locations.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and maintain enterprise Data Lake solutions from inception.

• Design scalable ETL solutions and data pipelines.

• Efficiently move and process terabytes of data.

• Establish processes for data quality, governance, metadata, and lineage.

• Build capabilities for anomaly detection, monitoring, and alerting.

• Assist in modern Data Lakehouse and real-time analytics platforms.

• Facilitate large-scale data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, and backfill operations.

• Diagnose and enhance production data services and distributed analytics platforms.

• Provide support for Linux environments and operational services related to data and analytics platforms.

• Aid in enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and business intelligence solutions.

• Ensure that platforms manage sensitive and regulated data in compliance with organizational standards.

• Offer technical guidance, mentor team members, perform code and design reviews, and develop engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, professional experience, and demonstrated technical expertise.

• Over 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and constructing enterprise Data Lakes, Lakehouses, or analytical data platforms.

• Strong background in developing enterprise ETL/ELT solutions and scalable data pipelines.

• Proficient with Oracle Database, Debezium, Kafka, Kafka Connect, Apache Flink, Apache Iceberg, Nessie, StarRocks, Spark, Kyuubi, and Power BI.

• Experience managing both batch and streaming data workloads.

• Familiarity with Change Data Capture (CDC), event-driven architectures, real-time data processing, data cataloging, schema evolution, data versioning, and enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions.

• Proven experience in supporting large-scale data ingestion, transformation, reconciliation, backfill processes, and distributed analytics platforms.

• Understanding of observability, monitoring, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices using Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, and Grafana.

• Extensive experience in supporting production Linux environments, including system administration, systemd-managed services, performance tuning, automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support.

• Advanced SQL development, data modeling, and performance tuning expertise.

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, semantic-layer design, and analytical data structures.

• Experience in processing and managing large-scale data environments.

• Hands-on experience in implementing data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, and observability frameworks.

• Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, governance, and data cataloging practices.

• Experience in establishing monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, and operational support processes.

• Proven ability to support enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and business intelligence solutions.

• Ability to ensure compliance with requirements for handling PII, customer data, confidential business information, and other regulated data.

• Skilled in providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, conducting code and design reviews, and contributing to engineering standards and best practices.

• Must possess a current, valid passport and legal eligibility for international travel, including necessary travel visas or exemptions for Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.

• Preference for candidates available to work in the EST timezone.
