Senior Data Engineer – Analytics Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and implement scalable data models in BigQuery utilizing dbt to support analytics, reporting, and operational insights.

• Create systems for delivering data to both internal stakeholders and external clients.

• Uphold data governance practices that include documentation, lineage, testing, and adherence to data quality standards.

• Enhance query performance and cost efficiency for analytical workloads within BigQuery.

• Collaborate closely with product, sales, analytics, and executive stakeholders to convert business requirements into dependable data models.

• Guide engineers and analysts on best practices in analytics engineering and data modeling.

• Contribute to the overall data platform by collaborating with engineers who are developing real-time data systems and infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in constructing analytics or data platform infrastructure.

• Proficient in SQL and dbt, including advanced transformation logic and data modeling techniques.

• Experience in designing data warehouse models in BigQuery or comparable cloud data warehouses.

• Solid understanding of data modeling patterns within columnar databases.

• Proven experience in building curated datasets for analysts and business stakeholders.

• Familiarity with modern data stack tools like Fivetran or similar data ingestion frameworks.

• Excellent communication skills and capability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
