This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Develop technical solutions that link data pipelines, models, and user-facing experiences.
• Decompose intricate analytics or AI feature areas into engineering plans while identifying potential technical risks.
• Oversee code and design reviews.
• Work in collaboration with data scientists, AI engineers, and product managers to transition prototypes into production.
• Guide junior engineers in system design, debugging, and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Manage the comprehensive design of analytical solutions, encompassing data contracts, feature stores, model endpoints, and client integrations.
• Make architectural and tooling choices based on cost, risk, and value assessments.
• Assess emerging analytics and AI platforms, recommending their adoption when suitable.
• Choose integration patterns and conduct proofs of concept.
• Determine when to build new solutions versus reusing existing ones, balancing the speed of experimentation with reliability.
• Convey technical, product, and business strategies to senior engineers, data scientists, and product partners.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with approximately 8 years of pertinent software development experience; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or 3 years with a PhD; equivalent experience is also considered.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software or data engineering projects across multiple teams.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Git, with hands-on experience in production data pipelines.
• Practical experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry, or similar contemporary cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Experience in designing scalable data architectures and integration patterns such as ETL/ELT, and both batch and streaming processes.
• Knowledge of PySpark or comparable distributed data processing frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Exposure to deploying AI/ML models in production analytics scenarios.
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and data visualization libraries.
