Senior Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the reporting and analytics operations as the primary Data Analyst for the company

• Act as an internal analytics advisor throughout the organization

• Evaluate business operations, customer behaviors, mobile application telemetry, and security event information

• Facilitate decision-making processes, assess product performance, recognize trends, and guide strategic planning

• Assist with financial reporting tasks, including quarter-end closure, invoicing, and reconciliation

• Create and sustain executive dashboards and operational reports utilizing Tableau

• Examine business metrics such as revenue, customer growth, subscriptions, retention, product adoption, and operational performance

• Investigate mobile application telemetry, customer activities, product usage, and feature adoption

• Scrutinize security event data to track threats, trends, anomalies, and product efficiency

• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Engineering, and Security Intelligence teams

• Establish and monitor KPIs while identifying trends and avenues for business and product enhancement

• Convert complex data findings into straightforward insights and recommendations suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences

• Write efficient SQL queries in AWS Athena against extensive datasets stored in Amazon S3

• Integrate data from various internal systems

• Design, develop, publish, and maintain Tableau dashboards

• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data

• Document data sources, business rules, report definitions, and analytical methodologies

• Identify opportunities for automating routine reporting and analysis

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of experience in providing analytics or business intelligence solutions within technology, mobile applications, cybersecurity, or a related field

• Proficient in SQL at an expert level and experienced in handling complex relational datasets

• Familiarity with AWS Athena or a comparable cloud-based analytical query engine

• Advanced experience with Tableau or another equivalent BI platform

• Strong grasp of relational databases and data modeling

• Experience in analyzing software product telemetry, application usage, or operational event data

• Proven experience working with large-scale datasets in cloud environments

• Capability to translate intricate data into clear business insights and recommendations

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision

• Preferred: Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis, data exploration, and automation

• Preferred: Background in cybersecurity, mobile applications, and/or SaaS

• Preferred: Understanding of data governance and data quality practices

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and workflows for automating reporting and analysis
