Online Visiting Professor, Data Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Instruct courses and programs in alignment with DeVry University standards.

• Facilitate the educational experience for both undergraduate and graduate students.

• Create course syllabi that meet local campus guidelines and include terminal course objectives.

• Organize, prepare, modify, and refresh course materials as necessary.

• Utilize online technologies and course-specific software, such as websites, email, and online discussions.

• Exemplify proficient oral and written communication skills.

• Communicate course objectives, assignment and exam dates, and the weightings for evaluation categories.

• Ensure that exam content and difficulty align with course terminal objectives.

• Prepare and evaluate exams consistently and impartially.

• Offer prompt feedback to students.

• Adopt and incorporate responsible AI technologies within the classroom setting.

• Identify, assess, and address both appropriate and inappropriate uses of AI tools by students.

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A doctoral degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related discipline is mandatory.

• Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in data analytics, statistics, data science, quantitative analysis, or a related computational field.

• Candidates must submit unofficial graduate-level transcripts with their application.

• Degrees should be conferred by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an equivalent international institution.

• Three to five years of practical professional experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence, statistical analysis, or data-driven decision-making.

• Proven experience with data analysis tools and programming environments, including statistical software, data visualization platforms, database technologies, and analytics programming languages.

• Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials pertinent to data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or statistical analysis.

• Solid subject matter expertise in data analytics principles and methodologies.

• Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex quantitative concepts to diverse learners.

• Understanding of ethical and responsible data practices, including data governance, privacy issues, bias awareness, and the responsible use of data in decision-making.

• Additional requirements may be dictated by state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards.

• Dedication to continuous professional growth in instructional technology, digital literacy, and responsible AI practices.

• Preferred: industry certifications in data analytics, data science, or business intelligence platforms.

• Preferred: experience with data management and analytics ecosystems, such as databases, data warehousing, data pipelines, and large-scale data processing environments.

• Preferred: experience in applying predictive analytics, exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques.

• Preferred: familiarity with data governance and data lifecycle management.

• Preferred: experience with programmatic or regional accreditation processes.

• Preferred: active involvement in professional analytics, statistics, or data science organizations.

• Preferred: experience in integrating data analytics laboratories, real-world datasets, and analytics platforms into higher education instruction.
