Senior Data Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with business unit leaders and the Product, Data & Technology teams to evaluate data and analytics requirements.

• Gather data requirements and investigate internal systems of record along with publicly available data sources.

• Request and acquire private data sources to fulfill business needs.

• Determine translation and transformation needs for acquired data.

• Enhance the quality of sourced data through curation, validation rules, and the upkeep of Master Data tables.

• Sustain the Logical Data Dictionary with details on data lineage, stewardship, custodianship, and versioning information.

• Reconcile and validate dashboards and reports.

• Document both functional and non-functional requirements for data collection, loading, transformation, curation, processing, visualization, and distribution of insights.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, scalable infrastructure redesigns, and optimized data delivery.

• Offer actionable insights regarding customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and business performance metrics.

• Identify Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and establish masking, data-processing, and access-control protocols.

• Document the Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery and requirements for high-availability and recoverability.

• Evaluate the accuracy of data sources and the effectiveness of data-gathering methods.

• Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and document processes for monitoring the performance and accuracy of the data warehouse.

• Mentor junior data professionals and share reusable assets and domain expertise.

• Engage in stakeholder reviews and design sessions.

• Provide management with data, reports, and relevant information.

• Monitor trends and technology-related errors while developing cross-functional solutions.

• Address high-level issues and contribute to decisions regarding technology direction.

• Oversee platform usage, database sizes, compute resources, and third-party costs.

• Advocate for data transformation and maintain partnerships with stakeholders.

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field is mandatory.

• A Master's Degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience in Data Analyst roles, including two years in a senior technical capacity.

• Exceptional skills in eliciting business requirements, documenting user stories, analyzing data sources, and evaluating data quality.

• Expertise in data analysis, technical documentation, logical data dictionary, data validation rules, acceptance criteria, and SDLC methodologies such as Scrum, as well as ITSM – ITILv4.

• Experience in identifying data integration requirements using ETL tools and modern data pipelines.

• Proven ability to query and analyze SQL relational databases and NoSQL databases.

• Experience in collecting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data in various formats from internal systems and external providers.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite, Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft SharePoint.

• Experience conducting root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes.

• Strong analytical, data governance, critical-thinking, organizational, communication, leadership, interpersonal, and team-building capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based platforms, and third-party software applications.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

• Willingness to travel 5% or less.
