Senior D365 Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the senior functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for D365 Project Management & Accounting.

• Collect requirements, evaluate processes, pinpoint gaps, and devise scalable D365 solutions.

• Oversee comprehensive project accounting processes, which encompass setup, contracts, funding, budgets, costing, time and expense tracking, billing, revenue recognition, work in progress (WIP), invoicing, and project closure.

• Ensure the integration of Project Management & Accounting (PMA) with the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Procurement, reporting, and additional business processes.

• Steer functional solution design and configuration while formulating functional requirements for integrations, workflows, reports, and enhancements.

• Collaborate with developers, architects, data teams, and external service providers.

• Deliver senior-level production support, manage issue triage, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve intricate functional issues.

• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), regression, integration testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, defect management, validation, and obtaining business sign-off.

• Assist with D365 upgrades, releases, and the introduction of new functionalities.

• Ensure that project financial data is accurate and appropriate for reporting and analytics.

• Maintain functional documentation, process maps, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and knowledge resources.

• Identify opportunities for efficiency, controls, automation, data quality, and enhancements to user experience.

• Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for stakeholders.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to Business Analysts and other functional team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

• Proven hands-on expertise with D365 Project Management & Accounting (PMA) is essential.

• In-depth understanding of project accounting and its integration with core Finance processes.

• Experience in functional analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, UAT, and production support.

• Strong knowledge of Finance processes, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and financial dimensions.

• Familiarity with integrations, reporting, data, and downstream systems.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Experience collaborating with external implementation or managed service partners is advantageous.

• Ability to work in a designated U.S. location based on business and operational requirements.
