Senior Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of applications and implementation of data solutions for a worldwide clientele.

• Collaborate with customer technology and data teams to identify and comprehend customer datasets.

• Create specifications for integrations and processes to maintain data integrity.

• Work closely with customers to ascertain their business needs and data environments.

• Gather, document, and confirm both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Conduct workshops and interviews with client stakeholders to capture use cases and define success criteria.

• Analyze intricate customer datasets, schemas, and data flows to determine integration needs.

• Partner with data engineers and developers to design processes for data ingestion, transformation, and mapping.

• Verify data quality, completeness, and compliance with business requirements.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications.

• Serve as the liaison between customers and internal technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• Contribute to solution architecture, user story development, and defining acceptance criteria.

• Outline test cases and validate outputs against expected results.

• Collaborate with the product team to ensure customer data is accurately represented in analytics outputs.

• Provide insights on product enhancements based on client requirements and data analysis.

• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of integrated data in facilitating customer decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a business analyst or data analyst position, including a minimum of 2 years in a technical role.

• Demonstrated experience in data integration projects (ETL, data pipelines, APIs).

• Solid understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data transformation principles.

• Preference for relational database experience (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.).

• Ability to convert complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa.

• Strong skills in communication, documentation, and stakeholder management.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Technical proficiency in analyzing complex datasets with the ability to query them using SQL and Excel.

• Must be approachable, composed under pressure, and genuine.

• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

• Knowledge of software architectural concepts.
