This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide guidance and assistance to the capital markets team in establishing the company’s network of funding sources and strategies, with a focus on international growth.
• Offer advice and support to the bank partnerships team in expanding the network of originating and card-issuing partner banks.
• Take the lead on financing transactions or initiatives with bank partners, managing the legal strategy through to execution and ongoing post-closing activities.
• Prepare, review, and negotiate legal documents related to US and international capital markets deals, including credit and security agreements, loan sale agreements, indentures, officer certificates, board and shareholder resolutions, and side letters.
• Deliver legal expertise regarding lending and securities laws and regulations applicable to capital markets transactions.
• Convey legal advice in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as the legal liaison for capital markets and/or bank partnerships.
• Contribute thought leadership on specialized projects.
• Report to the Director, Capital Markets Counsel, and work closely with the capital markets and bank partnerships business teams.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a law firm.
• Additional experience in-house is preferred, especially from a high-growth fintech startup.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school.
• Active membership in good standing with a US state bar.
• Legal expertise in structured and/or debt finance, covering term, revolving, and asset-based lending; warehouse and asset-backed financing; loan sales; securitizations; and innovative funding methods.
• Advanced understanding of financing and corporate transactions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of lending and securities laws and regulations related to capital markets transactions.

• Strong business judgment and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, maturity, business acumen, initiative, and a positive attitude.
• Demonstrated experience as a key member of a high-performing team.
