This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
β’ Act as legal counsel for contracts related to strategic transactions, research collaborations, service agreements, and other legal requirements.
β’ Draft, review, negotiate, and oversee confidentiality agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, sponsorship agreements, consulting agreements, clinical trial agreements, vendor and supplier agreements, collaboration and licensing agreements, as well as sponsored research agreements.
β’ Collaborate with teams in commercial, medical affairs, research, clinical operations, finance, and senior leadership to offer business-oriented legal guidance.
β’ Stay informed on changes in relevant laws and regulations, providing advice on regulatory and legal issues.
β’ Work together with the data privacy officer on matters concerning data privacy.
β’ Create and maintain contract templates, legal playbooks, training resources, and guidance documents.
β’ Assist in reducing legal risks while facilitating business expansion as the company evolves into a commercial-stage biotechnology firm.
β’ Report directly to the Associate General Counsel and support a wide array of legal issues across the organization.
β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
β’ Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
β’ 5β7 years of legal experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical sector, including work within an in-house legal department.
β’ Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements that support research, development, manufacturing, commercial, and operational activities.
β’ Strong preference for experience in supporting commercial and/or medical affairs departments in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare companies.
β’ Preferred familiarity with both domestic and international laws governing clinical research, drug development, and data privacy.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication, negotiation, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
β’ Demonstrated capacity to independently manage legal matters and negotiations, advise senior stakeholders, juggle multiple priorities, and function effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, growth-centric environment.
β’ Preferred ability to participate in on-site monthly team meetings and other related activities.
