Senior Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Manage complex, high-profile litigation, including trucking and motor vehicle cases, premises liability, surgical and medical-related issues, and other intricate liability situations.

• Independently oversee court appearances, depositions, briefs, and trials.

• Take full responsibility for case management, including discovery and trial preparation.

• Create compelling case themes and strategies.

• Engage in substantive motion practice and discovery processes.

• Collaborate closely with trial attorneys Holly Howanitz and Stefani Cogsdale on important Florida cases.

• Assume significant ownership of cases and independently advance assignments and cases.

• Maintain regular communication with clients.

• Foster relationships with current and prospective clients.

• Work collaboratively with attorneys of varying experience levels.

• Provide guidance and leadership to junior attorneys.

• Enhance expertise through mentorship, training, courtroom exposure, and increased responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Florida Bar license.

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.

• Must be licensed in your respective state.

• Over 8 years of substantial litigation experience, particularly in litigation support, depositions, and trial preparation.

• Capability to manage complete case-handling responsibilities, covering all aspects of discovery and trial.

• Preferred experience in handling insurance defense matters.

• Familiarity with time management systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Ability to think independently and act with minimal supervision.

• Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance and demeanor are required.

• Strong legal writing proficiency.

• Experience in substantive motion practice and discovery is necessary.

• Trial experience is highly valued.

• Law Review experience or demonstrated excellence in legal research and writing is particularly desirable.
