This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Facilitate the successful execution of intricate construction projects within the life sciences sector.
β’ Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis.
β’ Provide value-added cost management services across manufacturing, laboratory, R&D, and associated capital initiatives.
β’ Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the duration of the construction process.
β’ Develop and present comprehensive final cost plans.
β’ Review and engage in the development of cost estimates with design teams and general contractors.
β’ Reconcile adjustments and ensure the accuracy of contractor data.
β’ Collect project status updates and prepare revisions for cost estimates.
β’ Draft written feedback and executive summaries for contractor proposals.
β’ Coordinate cost-related information from owners, suppliers, subcontractors, and architects/engineers.
β’ Communicate engineering priorities based on cost implications.
β’ Oversee cost checks and valuations on larger projects.
β’ Manage cost variances and change control processes post-contract.
β’ Track cost impacts, contingencies, and commitment logs.
β’ Prepare funding data presentations and facilitate value engineering sessions.
β’ Develop cost plans and estimates aligned with design milestones.
β’ Provide commercial insights into design options and value engineering.
β’ Review pricing from contractors and subcontractors, leading negotiations from the clientβs side.
β’ Execute quantity surveying, cost control, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
β’ Generate monthly cost reports for client review.
β’ Negotiate and finalize accounts.
β’ Compile built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
β’ Identify, coach, and mentor upcoming talent.
β’ Monitor commission margins, monthly fees, resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal software.
β’ Implement and sustain internal business management systems and delivery methodologies.
β’ Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities.
β’ A bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
β’ At least 5β7 years of pertinent experience in a construction cost management capacity.
β’ RICS accreditation or progress toward it is preferred.
β’ Experience in leading cost management efforts on medium to large-scale construction projects of moderate to high complexity.
β’ Strong preference for candidates with construction consultancy experience.
β’ Solid understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
β’ Exceptional communication skills.
β’ Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
β’ Experience in client-facing stakeholder management.
