This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison with clients, providing valuable cost management services.
• Assist with large-scale capital construction and development initiatives based in the Houston area.
• Negotiate change orders throughout the construction process.
• Create and deliver comprehensive final cost plans.
• Reconcile changes and aid the general contractor in ensuring data accuracy.
• Collect status updates and prepare cost reports along with the latest estimate revisions.
• Draft written feedback on submissions from the general contractor, including executive summaries.
• Coordinate cost data from NPA, subcontractors, architects/engineers, and quantity sources.
• Communicate and prioritize engineering tasks based on their cost implications.
• Proactively resolve scheduling conflicts with minimal supervision.
• Oversee cost checks and valuations for larger projects.
• Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and change control processes.
• Manage cost impacts, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.
• Prepare funding data presentations and facilitate value engineering sessions.
• Develop and revise cost plans and estimates throughout design milestones.
• Provide commercial insights during design optioneering and value engineering.
• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Execute quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management across the project lifecycle.
• Oversee cost auditing, valuation, and validation processes.
• Generate monthly cost reports for client presentations.
• Negotiate and finalize accounts.
• Compile built cost estimate documentation for benchmarking purposes.
• Identify, coach, and mentor emerging talent.
• Deliver leadership and service excellence on commissions.
• Monitor margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal systems.
• Implement internal business management frameworks, delivery methodologies, and tools.
• Foster a unified business culture that balances the needs of people, clients, stakeholders, and society.
• Comply with applicable SOX control responsibilities.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of pertinent experience in cost management, cost engineering, estimating, or project controls for significant capital construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in leading cost management for medium or large-sized construction projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Experience in supporting extensive industrial, manufacturing, commercial, energy, transportation, or infrastructure construction programs.
• Prior experience in construction consultancy is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of estimating, cost forecasting, change management, earned value management, and project controls principles.
• Proven experience in preparing and reviewing cost reports, budgets, forecasts, contingencies, and project cash flows.
• Solid knowledge of construction industry technical issues, including procurement methods, value management, and value engineering.
• Extensive experience with SAP software.
• Familiarity with and experience using Ecosys.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
• RICS accreditation or working towards it is preferred.
