Senior Cost Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +38 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct cost estimating, analysis, and control functions.

• Oversee quality control evaluations.

• Foster relationships with project staff, discipline leaders, and engineers.

• Offer technical guidance to assigned personnel when applicable.

• Lead members of the project team.

• Ensure project timelines are met and objectives achieved.

• Promote the professional growth of other team members.

• Assist in the creation and enforcement of cost recording, reporting, and analysis standards, programs, and reports.

• Compile cost data for projects, proposals, and contract negotiations.

• Aid in managing scope changes.

• Specify scope requirements for disciplines or specialties and synchronize necessary data with Engineering and other sources.

• Create and verify quantity takeoffs.

• Develop and implement unit rates for costs and job hours.

• Formulate specific budgets in accordance with established standards and procedures.

• Prepare and organize cost reports.

• Gather and categorize cost engineering data.

• Execute data analysis and development tasks.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Project Manager, Supervisor, or Manager.

• Demonstrate, support, and adhere to the Company’s mission and values.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a citizen of the United States.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of pertinent experience in a related industry.

• Preference for candidates with a background in Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

• Required: Certified Cost Professional certification from AACE International or equivalent; may include CCP-AACE, CEP-AACE, or CPE-ASPE.

• Familiarity with capital and service costs.

• Understanding of scope change management.

• Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction systems, and startup processes.

• Proficient in utilizing various discipline-specific software applications.

• Ability to identify, analyze, and offer innovative solutions to cost-related challenges.

• Awareness of financial reporting systems and controller account codes.

• Comprehension of Controller guidelines affecting Project Controls, including Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data.

• Proficient with computers and knowledgeable in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.

• Capacity to sit and stand for extended periods.

• Capability to walk and climb on construction sites.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
