This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide support to a prominent natural gas client in the Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas region.
• Execute controls commissioning, system maintenance, equipment calibration, and the repair or replacement of controls software, hardware, and instruments.
• Carry out control software upgrades with development assistance from the Home Office.
• Perform combustion tuning.
• Act as the primary technical resource for the client.
• Keep documented records of changes and modifications for the equipment covered.
• Ensure that changes are swiftly implemented across operations.
• Collaborate with the company to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) encompassing all aspects of the responsibilities.
• Guarantee that monitoring and diagnostic services address known and anticipated degradation and failure modes.
• Train company engineers and technicians through hands-on experience.
• Design an ongoing structured on-the-job training program that includes operation, performance, condition monitoring, and maintenance.
• Guide company personnel on troubleshooting and issue analysis.
• Create maintenance schedules to enhance unit reliability and availability.
• Adhere to contractor and company outage planning processes and deliverables.
• Conduct maintenance planning and activities related to pre-outage, outage, and post-outage.
• Draft detailed discipline-specific work scopes for each agreed outage.
• Execute other assigned duties.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Mark VIe Intermediate certification.
• Familiarity with Mark VIe Control Systems (Advanced Viewer).
• Experience with Control System - Mark VIe Intermediate (Advanced Viewer).
• Proficient in Control System - Mark Ve/VIe Troubleshooting (Advanced).
• Knowledge in Control System - Mark VIe Maintenance (Advanced).
• Introductory training in Mark Vies Functional Safety System.
• Completion of EHS assigned regulatory training for the work area as detailed by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix.
• Over 7 years of experience in creating, modifying, simulating, implementing, field testing, and troubleshooting logic sequences and HMI screens/interfaces on General Electric Mark controllers (MarkVe, MarkVI, MarkVIe).
• Comprehensive knowledge of MarkV-HMI systems.
• Familiarity with MarkV-IDOS, Ovation, or Siemens Control Systems (T3000, TXP) is an advantage.
• Experience utilizing control systems sequence builders and compilers, control system simulators, HMI screen editors, HMI consoles, data gathering and reduction tools, as well as scheduling and reporting tools.
• At least 5 years of experience with gas turbine general architecture and design.
• Working knowledge of gas turbine support and ancillary systems, including fuel delivery, purge, instrument air, and hydraulic supplies.
• Capability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to associated limits and alarms.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with instrument calibration procedures and recommissioning gas turbines post-inspection, including hands-on fieldwork.
• At least 3 years of experience addressing technical or organizational challenges in cross-functional teams.
• Advanced skills in communication and documentation.
• Over 3 years of experience in persuading and presenting technical subjects to peers, upper management, and clients.
• Multilingual candidates are preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs, along with grasping and repetitive motions.
• Close visual acuity required for data analysis, computer terminal usage, visual inspection, measurement devices, and assembly/fabrication.
• Ability to work in various environments, including outdoors, in noisy conditions, around moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical currents, scaffolding/high places, high heat, and chemicals.
• Capability to operate in confined spaces, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, and passageways.
• Willingness to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, and face shields.
• Travel by air and ground on short notice is required.
