Senior Controls Engineer – Food & Beverage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Lead the development and implementation of control system solutions for clients in the food and beverage sector.

• Act as the technical expert in food process automation, encompassing areas such as process/batching, CIP, packaging, and utilities.

• Design PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems primarily utilizing Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and Aveva technologies.

• Incorporate Industry 4.0 and IIoT innovations into solutions.

• Collaborate with plant and corporate stakeholders across various locations as the engineering partner for the customer.

• Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), site commissioning, and startup operations on a national scale.

• Provide mentorship and support to engineers on the project team.

• Partner with the Operations Manager to ensure effective project delivery and establish enduring customer relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation.

• Extensive experience in manufacturing environments within the food and beverage sector.

• In-depth understanding of food processing systems, including batching, mixing, sanitation, temperature control, and line integration.

• Practical knowledge of PLCs, with a preference for Allen-Bradley systems.

• Familiarity with SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, Aveva, and Ignition.

• Experience in developing HMI systems.

• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.

• Awareness of best practices in control panel design.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Capability to connect IT, plant floor, and corporate engineering teams effectively.

• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites 10–25% of the time.
