PlatformOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design of cloud architectures based on the principles of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

• Take ownership of the AWS environment, encompassing ECS Fargate, Lambda, Batch, RDS PostgreSQL, ElastiCache Redis, S3, CloudWatch, networking/IAM, and Bedrock.

• Manage infrastructure as code to ensure reviewable and repeatable provisioning across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Deploy, upgrade, back up, restore, and manage access to the self-hosted Langfuse observability stack.

• Develop and uphold CI/CD pipelines and platform conformance gates.

• Oversee secrets management, artifact/image pipelines, and blue/green or rolling deployment strategies.

• Operate the OpenTelemetry pipeline to enhance application and infrastructure observability as well as LLM traces.

• Maintain infrastructure for per-tenant usage and costs, including dashboards, alerting, and SLOs.

• Ensure trace retention and masking aligns with data governance standards.

• Assist product teams with environmental issues, deployment inquiries, and performance troubleshooting.

• Uphold security standards in support of SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR commitments.

• Implement least-privilege IAM, network isolation, encryption, and audit trails.

• Support PII masking architecture on an infrastructure level.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform, SRE, or DevOps roles managing production workloads on AWS.

• Extensive hands-on experience with ECS or EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC networking.

• Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code practices, utilizing Terraform or CDK.

• Ownership of CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.

• Familiarity with Claude Code and AI Spec Driven Design.

• Experience in operating stateful open-source systems in production, including ClickHouse or similar columnar/analytics databases such as Druid or Pinot, or in-depth database operations experience with Postgres at scale, Elasticsearch, or Kafka.

• Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry collectors, exporters, sampling, and instrumentation conventions.

• A security-first mindset regarding IAM policies, secrets, and data boundaries.

• Experience with various cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.

• Experience in self-hosting LLM/GenAI tools or managing GenAI workloads is a plus.

• Proficient in scripting and automation; Python or Go is preferred.

• Previous experience in a compliance-focused environment such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR is preferred.

• Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS operations is preferred.

• Experience in FinOps is a plus.
