Senior Consultant – VMware Cloud Foundation Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, configure, automate, and validate VMware Cloud Foundation management and workload domains.

• Provide support for both greenfield and brownfield deployments, customer integration, and operational enablement across management and workload domains.

• Create and execute VCF automation workflows for consistent and scalable deployments.

• Conduct technical sessions focused on innovative data center solutions.

• Facilitate sales and training sessions related to data center technologies.

• Establish strong relationships with enterprise solution partners to foster collaboration.

• Assist clients in their digital transformation efforts through audit, architecture, consulting, implementation, and training.

• Identify and assess cloud solution opportunities that integrate with existing systems.

• Evaluate cloud solutions regarding functionality, service availability, and performance.

• Analyze hybrid platform solutions for organizational compatibility.

• Ensure technical feasibility for integration, data exchange, and migration processes.

• Engage in the development and integration of emerging technology solutions and partnerships.

• Participate in customer-facing meetings to gather business and technical requirements for VMware VCF development.

• Keep abreast of technical challenges and industry trends.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent consulting industry experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in architecting and implementing data center solutions.

• Expert-level proficiency in the design and operation of the complete VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) stack, including vSphere, Automation, vSAN, and NSX/NSX-T architectures.

• Familiarity with other major virtualization platforms such as Microsoft Hyper-V or KVM.

• Subject matter expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Automation.

• At least one of the following certifications: VMware Certified Professional, VCF, VCAP, VCDIX, VMware Knight.

• Broadcom VMware Knight certification is highly desired.

• VMware virtualization skills encompassing servers, storage, and networks; operations management; orchestration and automation; virtual desktop infrastructure; and cloud foundation.

• Ability to design and provide architecture for Software Defined Infrastructure.

• General understanding of Containers and Native Cloud Services.

• Proficient in infrastructure automation, scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell, and configuration management tools like Terraform and Ansible.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to analyze complex technical issues.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, sales, customer service, organizational, and time management skills.

• Capability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

• Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
