Senior Consultant, Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain a highly available network infrastructure across both cloud and enterprise environments.

• Create and support AWS networking solutions, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity across various environments and regions.

• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, network segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, NAT, DNS, and load-balancing solutions.

• Facilitate hybrid connectivity between cloud environments, data centers, partners, service providers, and external networks.

• Provide hands-on technical leadership during complex network incidents, addressing connectivity, routing, latency, packet loss, and performance challenges.

• Design network solutions that incorporate resilience, redundancy, scalability, security, and disaster recovery considerations.

• Implement network infrastructure and configurations through automation and Infrastructure as Code, minimizing manual operational tasks.

• Develop and enhance network monitoring, observability, alerting, and capacity management.

• Collaborate with Security, Cloud, SRE, Architecture, application teams, vendors, and telecommunications providers on network designs and implementations.

• Support network modifications, maintenance activities, incident responses, problem management, and root cause analyses.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, network diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.

• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical production environments.

• Operate business-critical infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise and cloud networks.

• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, routing, switching, DNS, NAT, VPN, network segmentation, and load balancing.

• Practical experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, and site-to-site VPN.

• Familiarity with enterprise firewall platforms and network security concepts.

• Experience with hybrid cloud and data center connectivity.

• Proficient in troubleshooting complex network problems using packet captures, flow logs, network telemetry, and traffic analysis.

• Experience with network monitoring and observability solutions.

• Knowledge of automating network infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code and scripting languages such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, or similar technologies.

• Experience operating highly available, business-critical production environments.

• Familiarity with incident management, root cause analysis, change management, and production support.

• Strong collaboration skills and experience working across infrastructure, cloud, security, architecture, and application teams.

• Digital fluency, including the capacity to work with emerging technologies like Generative AI tools.

• Preferred: Advanced experience with AWS networking in large-scale, multi-account, and multi-region environments.

• Preferred: Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or similar enterprise networking and security platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with Direct Connect, carrier circuits, colocation/data-center networking, and connectivity with external partners.

• Preferred: Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code at scale.

• Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes and container networking.

• Preferred: Experience in designing resilient network architectures for high-volume distributed systems.

• Preferred: Experience with network capacity planning, performance engineering, and observability.
