Senior Consultant – Public Works and Utilities

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Supervise and facilitate client service delivery to guarantee that work is finished on schedule, within the defined scope, and budget.

β€’ Delegate and oversee personnel responsible for client deliverables.

β€’ Record and assist client decision-making within the project's governance framework.

β€’ Organize internal and client team assignments according to the project schedule.

β€’ Provide project and delivery updates to clients, team members, and stakeholders.

β€’ Conduct client meetings.

β€’ Contribute to marketing initiatives and business development efforts.

β€’ Write blog posts and participate in industry conferences and groups.

β€’ Engage in meetings with potential clients.

β€’ Evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

β€’ Collaborate with the proposal writing team to create responses to RFPs.

β€’ Assist with projects related to business process improvement, organizational assessments, strategic planning, software system evaluations and selection, and system implementation for municipal Utilities and Public Works departments.

β€’ Serve clients across the nation and report to senior leaders in the Local Government Practice Group.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Political Science, Computer Science, or a relevant field.

β€’ A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in management or leadership roles with local government or utility agencies.

β€’ Familiarity with policies, procedures, business operations, budgeting, personnel management, service delivery, and business or software systems.

β€’ Experience in enterprise asset management, work orders, customer information systems, geographic information systems, capital improvement planning, or project management.

β€’ Understanding of project management, quality assurance, and quality control processes.

β€’ Proven ability to proactively manage challenges.

β€’ Preferred: advanced or graduate degree in business or public administration.

β€’ Preferred: current PMP, CAPM, or organizational change management certification.
