Senior Consultant, Market Intelligence – ERCOT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Attend and engage in ERCOT stakeholder meetings.

• Produce concise reports within days following each meeting, covering key presentations, announcements, discussions, and other relevant developments.

• Analyze emerging market design proposals.

• Customize reporting and analysis to align with clients’ commercial interests and their financial, policy, legal, and technical viewpoints.

• Proactively identify and articulate issues based on clients’ commercial interests.

• Suggest suitable courses of action for clients.

• Deliver real-time reporting and analysis on developments that have immediate and significant commercial implications.

• Collaborate closely with clients and respond to their inquiries promptly.

• Conduct regular monthly and quarterly conference calls with clients.

• Attract, engage, and assist clients through reports, analysis, and consulting projects related to both current and emerging market designs for ERCOT and other regions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the energy industry is required.

• A relevant college degree is required.

• A graduate degree or advanced industry training is preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in wholesale energy markets concerning resource and transmission planning, generation interconnection, resource adequacy, and market design are required.

• Strong preference for knowledge and experience related to ERCOT and associated ISO/RTOs.

• Strong writing abilities are essential.

• Experience with writing under tight deadlines is preferred.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, along with relevant experience, are required.

• Strong verbal and public presentation skills are preferred.

• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively is required.

• A business development orientation is preferred.

• Must be able to work remotely within the Texas region.

• Availability to attend ERCOT stakeholder meetings and travel periodically to other regional market-related meetings/workshops, industry conferences, client/potential client meetings, and the CES headquarters in Philadelphia is necessary.
