Senior Consultant I Adjuster – Casualty/Homeowner Liability, Bodily Injury Litigation/Complex

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Investigate and manage intricate homeowner liability claims, such as dog bites, slip-and-fall incidents, and third-party claims related to property damage or bodily injury.

• Independently oversee a litigation-centric caseload from a home-based office.

• Assess coverage, liability, damages, coverage limits, and overall claim value.

• Conduct comprehensive investigations and analyze medical reports for settlement evaluations.

• Negotiate and resolve claims in line with best practices of the business unit.

• Coordinate appraisals for particularly complex and disputed claims.

• Establish and update reserves, document the rationale behind decisions, and maintain notes summarizing claims.

• Serve as the primary liaison for policyholder attorneys and lead direct negotiations.

• Draft and reply to attorney correspondence, information requests, and demands.

• Investigate and address customer communications, concerns, conflicts, and issues.

• Summarize documents and keep detailed notes in the claims system regarding evaluations and decisions made.

• Communicate with customers, attorneys, and other stakeholders via phone, email, and text.

• Manage litigation risks and facilitate fair and timely claim resolutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in handling bodily injury claims, including litigation and/or complex casualty claims.

• Preferred experience in managing homeowner liability claims, though not mandatory.

• Strong skills in investigation, negotiation, and claim resolution.

• Capability to manage claims represented by attorneys and complex liability exposures.

• Candidates located on the West Coast are strongly preferred.

• Applicants outside the West Coast must be able to reliably work during Pacific Time zone hours.

• Home office must be situated within the United States.

• This position is not available to residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Washington.

• A dedicated private workspace at home, free from distractions, is required.

• Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is necessary.

• An appropriate work surface and seating arrangement is essential.

• May be required to secure an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire, if applicable.

• Applicants with an active insurance license must terminate existing appointments prior to onboarding and cannot hold outside appointments during employment.

• Applicants for an adjuster role who possess a resident producer license must surrender it when instructed.

• Must agree to undergo a background investigation.

• Allstate typically does not sponsor employment-based visas for this position.
