Leisure Air Desk Travel Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Deliver consultative travel planning and sales assistance for members, customers, executive management, board members, and internal partners via an inbound service environment.

• Assess traveler requirements and recommend as well as book both domestic and international travel arrangements.

• Advocate for membership and preferred vendor offerings.

• Provide services and sales for airline tickets, car rentals, hotels, and travel insurance.

• Identify client needs through one-on-one consultations and highlight preferred vendors as necessary.

• Cross-promote membership to align with the ACG Connected Member Vision.

• Finalize travel arrangements and inform travelers/arrangers about cancellation/change penalties, schedules, and fares.

• Receive, investigate, and resolve travel-related problems and issues.

• Plan and book intricate international and domestic itineraries, including hotel, car, and rail reservations.

• Achieve or surpass performance, production, and quality benchmarks.

• Organize travel itineraries for small groups.

• Collaborate with the Travel Group Department to secure airline agreements and arrange air travel for incentive and leisure groups.

• Offer advice on destinations as well as transportation and accommodation requests.

• Stay informed on foreign country developments that may impact travel arrangements or destination safety.

• Evaluate fare options, including Agentware, and provide enhancements such as hotels and car rentals.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Extensive experience as a travel agent with a focus on domestic and international airline transactions through the Computer Reservation System (CRS).

• Proficiency in auto faring of transactions.

• Knowledge of car rentals, hotels, and insurance.

• Capability to plan and book international airline reservations for the Western Hemisphere and Europe using a CRS.

• Ability to arrange complex international and domestic itineraries, including hotel, car, and rail reservations.

• Familiarity with geography and travel resource materials.

• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Skill in organizing travel itineraries for small groups.

• Understanding of destination safety and developments in foreign countries.

• Consistent and reliable attendance.

• Must agree to a background check and drug screening if offered employment.
