Senior Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide support for consulting in electricity market analysis and manage daily market operations.

• Aid in the management of wholesale market generation and load clients.

• Oversee settlement, scheduling, reporting, and other back-office operations.

• Manage scheduling activities and reporting for wholesale generation and load clients.

• Assist clients with the registration and testing of resources and Market Participants in the SPP market.

• Collaborate with IT, SCADA, Networking, and finance teams to facilitate resource start-up.

• Engage in market analysis projects that focus on the SPP market and potentially other deregulated energy markets.

• Create project proposals and communicate with clients or potential clients to modify, enhance, or adapt proposals.

• Generate settlement reports, monitoring tools, and other methods to help clients optimize efficiency in electric markets.

• Conduct business development activities to grow CES’s client base and expand product offerings.

• Work both independently and collaboratively within a team while managing multiple projects and prioritizing competing demands.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least five years of experience in the deregulated electric industry.

• In-depth understanding of RTO/ISO wholesale markets, particularly the SPP market.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

• Experience in conducting project research and/or providing consulting services.

• Familiarity with assets and load participation in the SPP market.

• Strong analytical reasoning abilities.

• Knowledge of financial modeling for generation projects.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with others.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Preferred: advanced understanding of SPP market rules and processes necessary for resource registration and management.

• Preferred: skills in database software, particularly experience with Microsoft SQL.

• Preferred: advanced educational qualifications.
