Senior Computer Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver advanced technical assistance for servers, applications, and end-user systems.

• Identify and resolve intricate hardware, software, and network challenges.

• Install, configure, and upkeep system software and updates.

• Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.

• Create scripts to automate routine technical processes.

• Produce technical documentation and procedures.

• Guide project teams on technical alternatives and best practices.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is mandatory.

• A minimum of 4 years of IT systems or technical support experience is required.

• Proficient in working with Windows and Linux or UNIX environments.

• Familiarity with networking, Active Directory, and basic system security principles.

• Experience in scripting using PowerShell, shell, or Python is essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

• Capability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Proficiency in using standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, and printers.

• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, or Red Hat certifications.

• ITIL Foundation certification is favored.

• Experience in supporting federal government contracts is a plus.
