Senior Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of cybersecurity and physical security toolkits tailored for SLTT stakeholders, which include fact sheets, statistics, short videos, posters, articles, and presentations.

• Conduct research and analysis on best practices for the SLTT cybersecurity volunteer program and raise awareness of CISA resources.

• Design outreach initiatives to disseminate effective models and promote the adoption of best practices.

• Compose and refine communication materials, presentations, and graphics for CISA-hosted live and livestreamed events.

• Provide staffing assistance during conferences, summits, roundtables, webinars, and fireside chats.

• Direct content for social media campaigns related to the CISA Resilience Challenge and support the public capstone event.

• Review and ensure the quality of communication deliverables for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to CISA branding standards.

• Mentor and support junior communications and events staff.

• Assist in compiling monthly progress report inputs and other contract deliverables as directed by the Program Manager.

• Collaborate with CISA stakeholders and SLTT partners.

• Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• More than 7 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, public affairs, or a related discipline.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a DHS Fitness Determination/DHS Suitability.

• Proven experience in developing communication, toolkit, or campaign materials for federal government clients, preferably within a health or homeland security context.

• Experience in reviewing and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of communication products, along with providing guidance to junior staff members.

• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

• Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability/a Public Trust clearance.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Strong skills in critical thinking, analysis, and time management.

• Established ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with others.

• Capability to articulate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in both written and verbal forms.
