This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Offer strategic communications guidance throughout SWITCH BC.

• Facilitate a unified, organization-wide strategy for collaboration and partner engagement.

• Provide counsel to leaders and program teams regarding communications strategy, messaging, engagement methods, and information dissemination.

• Create communications plans, content for websites, newsletters, brochures, reports, speeches, educational materials, social media posts, monthly program summaries, videos, and presentations.

• Organize and host events.

• Oversee SWITCH BC’s comprehensive collaboration strategy.

• Design and uphold systems for capturing, organizing, tracking, and reporting partner feedback, advice, inquiries, and emerging issues.

• Maintain records of partner engagement and feedback for planning, decision-making, reporting, and follow-up purposes.

• Recognize collaboration opportunities and ensure that partner insights are acknowledged and communicated.

• Analyze themes and trends in partner feedback and provide summaries and insights to leadership and program teams.

• Foster and maintain effective partner relationships and ensure timely follow-up.

• Establish standardized collaboration tools, templates, processes, and practices.

• Create clear, accessible, and audience-appropriate content for both internal and external stakeholders.

• Coordinate communications initiatives with program teams.

• Assist in campaigns, announcements, events, reports, and initiatives from planning through evaluation.

• Keep communications and engagement records and support consistent organizational messaging.

• Align communications with SWITCH BC’s branding, priorities, and standards.

• Provide communications assistance to the Psychological Health and Safety Program.

• Aid in communications planning and engagement with Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees and other program partners.

• Carry out other related duties as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Business Administration.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience.

• Experience in a collaborative multi-partner organization is considered a significant asset.

• IAP2 Canada Certificate in Public Participation (P2) or Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3) is regarded as an advantage.

• Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation is a plus.

• Equivalent training or work experience in public engagement and collaboration.

• Proficient in developing and executing communications plans and strategies.

• Proven ability to support partner engagement, collaboration, advisory groups, working groups, or similar multi-party initiatives.

• Strong capability to establish systems for documenting, organizing, tracking, and reporting on partner feedback.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management, and relationship-building abilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Experience with WordPress, SharePoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and other digital communication tools is an asset.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when managing confidential or sensitive information.

• Capable of working independently while effectively contributing to a collaborative team environment.

• Flexibility to adjust priorities and respond adeptly to changing organizational requirements.

• Must reside in British Columbia; only candidates residing in BC will be considered for interviews.

• Occasional travel for in-person events within BC is required.
