This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Create and execute a thorough communications strategy and plan to support principal and major gift fundraising efforts in Florida.
• Craft engaging donor communications that align with Florida's conservation objectives and TNC’s global conservation mission.
• Generate content for campaigns, solicitation materials, impact/grant reports, stewardship, and various donor communications.
• Simplify complex scientific and conservation topics into compelling narratives that encourage donor support.
• Write, edit, design, and oversee the production of proposals, reports, campaign materials, letters, speeches/scripts, impact reports, presentations, event materials, and conservation updates.
• Collaborate with finance, conservation, philanthropy operations, executive, and philanthropy teams to ensure alignment of requests with conservation priorities and financial needs.
• Assist in managing corporate and foundation grant submissions and reporting obligations.
• Work alongside external writing, design, printing, and mailing vendors.
• Coordinate efforts with the Marketing department.
• Oversee administrative and/or professional staff.
• Establish team goals and metrics to assess success.
• Provide recommendations and specialized donor communications training.
• Handle information in accordance with TNC privacy and security standard operating procedures.
• Develop budgets, operate within budgetary constraints, and negotiate contracts with vendors.
• Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and uphold accountability.
• Occasionally travel and be prepared to work long and flexible hours as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience in managing and executing multiple projects.
• Familiarity with negotiating agreements.
• Experience supervising staff, interns, and/or volunteers.
• Proficient with current and emerging technologies in the relevant field.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Background in principles and practices related to the relevant field through experience, coursework, or other training.
• Understanding of Florida’s conservation landscape and current issues.
• Proficient in design software such as Adobe and Canva, with some knowledge of graphic design.
• Ability to creatively conceive and write for various audiences.
• Awareness of current and evolving trends in communications, particularly in a non-profit setting.
• Skilled in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
• Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven success in implementing strategic program objectives.
• Valid driver's license and adherence to TNC’s Auto Safety Program.
