This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create communication plans and schedules for informatics projects designed for clinical, operational, and partner audiences.
• Compose, revise, and generate newsletters, fact sheets, web content, SharePoint materials, briefings, infographics, and various informational products.
• Oversee content for the Health Informatics Community of Practice and associated channels that serve VA medical centers.
• Generate outreach and educational resources that advocate for health information exchange with Veterans, community providers, and industry partners.
• Formulate messaging for deployment and adoption materials that facilitate Federal EHR site transitions, VistA/CPRS modifications, and optimal EHR usage.
• Create communications that support informatics workforce, training, and engagement initiatives.
• Prepare press materials, talking points, and responses to information requests for Government review and dissemination.
• Write and schedule content for internal and approved social media platforms and monitor engagement metrics.
• Ensure that all products adhere to Section 508 accessibility, plain-language guidelines, and VA branding requirements.
• Monitor communications reach and engagement, providing recommendations for enhancements.
• Participate in PI Planning, iteration ceremonies, and system demonstrations, synchronizing communication timelines with Feature delivery.
• Assist the VA VHA Office of Clinical Informatics regarding the Operational Informatics Pipeline contract.
• A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) is mandatory.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or a related domain is required.
• Proven experience in writing, editing, and producing informational materials, including newsletters, web content, press releases, or briefings.
• Experience in managing communication channels, such as internal communications or social media platforms.
• Skilled in writing for diverse audiences, including senior executives and technical or clinical personnel.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a VA background investigation at the level assigned to the role.
• Must live and work in the United States with valid U.S. work authorization.
• Desired: A degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related area.
• Desired: Experience with communications within the VA, VHA, or another federal healthcare entity.
• Desired: Familiarity with communicating health IT or EHR changes to healthcare professionals.
• Desired: Proficiency with SharePoint, Teams, and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Desired: Knowledge of applying Section 508 accessibility and plain-language standards.
• Desired: Experience in supporting change management communications; Prosci certification is a plus.
• Desired: Experience working on SAFe or Scrum teams.
