This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Austria.
• Create communications and knowledge-management materials as well as organizational structures under the supervision of the Project Manager.
• Evaluate documentation, implementation updates, workplans, milestones, and communication requirements for Global and National Child Projects across six PARS countries.
• Develop communication protocols, information-flow structures, branding resources, communication templates, and a comprehensive presentation deck.
• Organize and manage the shared PARS communications folder and content repository.
• Compose the PARS Knowledge Management, Communication, and Advocacy Action Plan.
• Draft and revise the PARS communication strategy along with the Year 1 calendar of significant events and showcases.
• Create sections on communication, visibility, branding, and marketing, along with practical tools for the PARS Internal Guidelines.
• Oversee communications for dissemination and training activities, which include invitations, presentations, outreach materials, event documentation, and post-event content.
• Prepare accessible digital dissemination and training materials, workshops, webinars, case studies, blog posts, and web content.
• Develop communication and knowledge-sharing materials for stakeholder consultations and the Gender-Responsive Strategy for Centres of Excellence.
• Manage communication, outreach, and visibility for events recognizing innovation, launches, workshops, consultations, webinars, and annual gatherings.
• Investigate media and publication opportunities; produce media pitches, strategic articles, briefing documents, and interview materials.
• Curate and upload communication and knowledge content to the PARS Web Platform.
• Align communication-related deliverables with the subcontracted webmaster, institutional contractor, National Child Project teams, and UNIDO Project Managers.
• Ensure communications utilize accessible, gender- and youth-sensitive language while adhering to UNIDO and GEF standards.
• Undertake additional communication tasks as requested by the Project Manager.
• An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in communication, journalism, public relations, international relations, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in public relations, communications, and producing a variety of marketing and communication materials across broadcast and online media.
• Experience in customizing key messages for various target audiences.
• Proven track record in preparing clear, audience-specific communication and knowledge products, including web content, presentations, outreach materials, and event communications.
• Experience in coordinating communication initiatives with multiple stakeholders, including project teams, government representatives, partners, MSMEs, or other external audiences.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and French.
• Advanced skills and familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and website editing software are desirable.
• Knowledge of UN system communication, visibility, and reporting standards, including GEF standards, is highly desirable.
• Experience in contributing to communication and visibility strategies, knowledge-management plans, advocacy approaches, or dissemination campaigns is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with assessing needs, conditions, and challenges in developing countries, particularly in sustainable development, climate innovation, or climate adaptation projects is desirable.
• Experience in preparing communication and dissemination materials for technical methodologies, policy guidance, training activities, or knowledge products is desirable.
• Experience in managing or contributing content to digital platforms, websites, online knowledge repositories, and virtual engagement tools is desirable.
• Experience in organizing and coordinating communications for virtual or in-person events is desirable.
• Experience communicating on topics related to climate adaptation, innovation, private-sector development, MSMEs, or programs targeting vulnerable groups is desirable.
• Prior involvement in gender-responsive and youth-inclusive communication, capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, or advocacy initiatives is desirable.
• Familiarity with UNIDO’s mission, operational methods, and climate adaptation initiatives in LDCs is desirable.
• Proficiency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language or other languages, particularly Portuguese, is desirable.
