This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Lead the commissioning program, project, and team in a client-facing role.
• Oversee and manage the commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems from initial design through functional testing and post-occupancy phases.
• Coordinate and lead the commissioning team along with project stakeholders for intricate projects and technical systems.
• Build and maintain client relationships, prepare proposals, and drive new business opportunities.
• Ensure project execution aligns with defined scope and manage project finances to ensure profitability.
• Mentor direct commissioning reports, assign tasks, and conduct quality control on their work.
• Confirm that systems are designed, installed, and functioning per the basis of design and specified criteria.
• Evaluate MEP systems design documents and operation sequences for compliance.
• Prepare comprehensive system checklists and functional performance tests for operations.
• Perform site inspections and walks, and generate site observation reports.
• Supervise onsite system testing and monitoring of complex integrated systems, documenting results accordingly.
• Identify and proactively address issues with contractors, engineers, and property owners.
• Produce technical reports and professional project deliverables.
• Execute tasks independently as needed.
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field in building science, complemented by 15 years of pertinent experience.
• Equivalent progressive industry experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
• Required knowledge of MEP systems installation and operation.
• Strong preference for experience in life science, healthcare, and data center facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
• LEED AP and commissioning certifications (such as CxA, CCP, or BCxP) are preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deliver efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to clients.
• Capability to effectively communicate information using technical writing skills, including detailed document formatting.
• Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to independently manage multiple ongoing tasks and organize extensive project files and communications.
• Familiarity with financial terms and principles.
• Proficient in managing project budgets, job costs, forecasting, project billing, and invoicing.
• Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret complex construction documents and the operation of building control systems.
• Skilled in addressing complex project team dynamics and troubleshooting building system operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for processing and analyzing substantial amounts of BAS trend data.
• Network file management skills are essential.
• Capability to edit PDF documents.
• Experience in creating formatted layouts is preferred.
• Prior experience with commissioning online software is preferred.
• Willingness to travel regionally to project sites as needed.
• Ability to work independently.
