This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee diverse relationships with both prospective and current clients to drive the generation of loans, deposits, and fees.
• Assess credit eligibility and create comprehensive loan narratives.
• Promote banking products and services through client preparation, sales calls, and follow-ups.
• Monitor and improve profitability across assigned client relationships.
• Cultivate and enhance client relationships through business development and cross-selling initiatives.
• Expand and sustain a profitable portfolio of loans and deposits.
• Evaluate personal and financial data to determine client needs and creditworthiness.
• Prepare and manage loan approval requirements and underwriting processes.
• Secure credit approvals and negotiate pricing, fees, repayment terms, and collateral requirements.
• Manage the portfolio by overseeing credit quality, past-due and non-performing credits, covenant compliance, and exceptions.
• Represent First Financial Bank in community, civic, and professional organizations.
• Refer loans to the loan committee for approval.
• Provide clients with advice on financial objectives and recommend appropriate products.
• Direct clients to other business lines when suitable.
• Collaborate with Bankers, Financial Center Managers, Retail Leaders, Credit/Underwriting, Loan Processing, Documentation teams, and senior management.
• Engage in bank marketing and sales promotions while supporting strategic initiatives.
• Adhere to bank, lending, regulatory, and compliance policies.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated relationship/account management experience in selling banking products within the appropriate segmentation.
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to generate new business through a consultative sales approach.
• Demonstrated experience in sales and negotiations.
• Marketing-focused.
• Proficient in working effectively with individuals and groups to manage customer relationships.
• Thorough knowledge of banking products.
• Experience in credit training, credit quality, and underwriting, including financial analysis.
• Preferred: experience in Capital Markets and/or Middle Market space ($75MM+).
• Preferred: background in Structured Finance, Asset Based Lending (ABL), ESOP, and/or leading syndicated transactions.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to collaborate with senior managers and leaders throughout the organization.
• Compliance with relevant State and Federal laws, regulations, and First Financial Bank policies, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, Suspicious Activity reporting, lending, and deposit compliance requirements.
