Senior Coder Abstractor – Outpatient Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Precisely code and abstract outpatient medical records in accordance with assigned tasks and anticipated productivity benchmarks.

• Accurately code and abstract intricate outpatient surgical procedures.

• Assign ICD10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes in line with national standards, departmental protocols, and the AHIMA Code of Ethics.

• Keep a systematic organization for personal coding reference materials.

• Engage in educational initiatives and uphold coding proficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information is mandatory.

• Certification as a Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is essential.

• A minimum of two years of prior coding experience utilizing ICD10-CM and CPT-4 coding systems is required.

• CCS certification along with two years of coding experience will be taken into account.

• Candidates must be vaccinated or possess lab-confirmed immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.

• It is necessary to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, or have an approved medical or religious exemption.
