This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across 1–4 specialties.
• Execute professional fee, facility, or HCC coding.
• Offer coding services to support clients effectively.
• Calculate Professional Fee and/or Facility E/M levels utilizing the company's algorithm.
• Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity.
• Code ER surgical procedures to capture additional revenue when suitable.
• Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes with the highest level of specificity.
• Utilize ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Interpret coding guidelines to ensure accurate code assignment.
• Recognize the influence of documentation on code assignment and reimbursement.
• Adhere to AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding as well as the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Follow internal policies and procedures diligently.
• Engage in company-sponsored training and educational programs.
• Maintain compliance with privacy and security regulations while safeguarding confidential information.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
• All coders must possess certification from either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
• At least 6 months of relevant on-the-job experience.
• Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance.
• Proficient understanding and experience with systems such as EMR and billing platforms.
• Access to a phone, dependable internet connection, and current coding resources including CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references.
• Maintain a productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or above.
• Achieve a quality score of 95% or higher.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Capability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written forms.
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines.
• Capacity to work independently from home while applying coding skills.
• Retain at least one credential through AAPC or AHIMA.
• Compliance with privacy, security, confidentiality, and personal health information standards.
