This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure across AWS, Azure, GCP, and transitioning from on-premises environments.
• Take ownership of secure configuration baselines, patch management, operating system images, and on-premises hardware.
• Create and sustain reusable, auditable Infrastructure as Code for both cloud and on-prem deployments.
• Provide support for cloud networking, including VPC provisioning, security groups, connectivity, load balancers, and DNS.
• Oversee cloud and legacy on-prem storage during migrations and assist with datacenter decommissioning.
• Execute AWS migration phases, which include server deployments and Infrastructure as Code-based resource change requests.
• Manage disaster recovery architecture, backup strategies, disaster recovery drills, documentation, and remediation efforts.
• Contribute to vulnerability management, threat detection, infrastructure security evaluations, PHI/PII scanning, and coordination of penetration tests.
• Ensure HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance controls, audit readiness, access reviews, evidence gathering, and coordination of change freezes.
• Maintain security sensor coverage and hardening standards for EKS container runtimes.
• Administer IAM roles, cross-account access controls, compute, storage, databases, identity, and authentication.
• Manage and harden Linux and Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and certificate services.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automation for secure, repeatable infrastructure deployments.
• Monitor, scale, and maintain production infrastructure to ensure availability, performance, and security.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, serve as an L2 escalation point, lead root cause analysis, and conduct incident retrospectives.
• Author and keep updated runbooks, disaster recovery documentation, architecture documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to FinOps, address cost anomalies, establish tagging governance, and evaluate cost/performance/resilience trade-offs.
• Utilize AI coding and documentation tools for Infrastructure as Code, scripting, troubleshooting, runbooks, disaster recovery documentation, and incident retrospectives.
• Provide technical guidance to product teams regarding resilience, migration sequencing, and recovery design.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure engineering.
• In-depth expertise in AWS and familiarity with other cloud environments.
• Direct experience in designing and executing disaster recovery strategies.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Experience in containerized environments and Kubernetes/EKS, including version upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Experience in administering Linux and Windows Server environments, including large-scale patching and OS lifecycle management.
• Solid experience in IAM design, including cross-account access and enforcement of least-privilege principles.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfortable being the primary on-call individual and L2 escalation point for infrastructure incidents.
• Preferred: experience in regulated environments such as FedRAMP, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
• Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect or SysOps certification, either Associate or Professional level.
• Preferred: experience with hybrid infrastructures and active migrations.
• Preferred: knowledge of DISA STIG or CIS benchmark hardening and vulnerability management/triage.
• Preferred: experience in FinOps or cost governance.
• Preferred: background in healthcare technology or digital health platforms.
• Preferred: familiarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones in a hybrid or remote work environment.
