This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of a core infrastructure product or subsystem from conception through to delivery, operation, and accountability in production.
• Establish project objectives and success metrics that align with the company's goals.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
• Develop technical designs based on Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and specifications.
• Construct secure, high-performance, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure.
• Design, develop, and deploy software and tools aimed at developers.
• Manage infrastructure using code and configuration, primarily leveraging Terraform.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to design services that can scale effectively.
• Engage in incident response and troubleshoot issues across various services.
• Optimize and enhance monitoring systems while suggesting improvements for stability and performance.
• Implement security measures and identify vulnerabilities in your own work and during peer reviews.
• Act as a technical resource and mentor for engineers through code reviews, collaborative coding, and design feedback.
• Promote cross-team collaboration and lead technical and process discussions with stakeholders outside of engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering primarily within cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).
• Proven track record of managing a product or subsystem from start to finish.
• T-shaped skill set with deep expertise in one or two areas, complemented by broad systems knowledge.
• Strong practical experience in managing infrastructure via code and configuration (Terraform or similar tools).
• Proficiency in networking, load balancing, containerization (EKS/Kubernetes), and distributed systems.
• Solid programming abilities in Go, Python, or a similar language.
• Practical experience in operating Redis/ElastiCache, including cluster/shard management, failover handling, memory eviction policies, and scaling strategies.
• Background in observability tools, performance optimization, and incident management.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices such as source control, code reviews, comprehensive test coverage, and secure deployment.
• High degree of personal accountability and independence, including experience working with ambiguous requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Must have authorization to work from the home location.
