This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Construct, automate, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure utilizing Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi.
• Design and sustain CI/CD pipelines that ensure secure and consistent transitions from code to production.
• Create and improve a self-service platform enabling data scientists and engineers to provision compute, data, and ML resources.
• Integrate security, data governance, quality, and compliance into the design process.
• Develop the operational foundation of the platform, incorporating observability, monitoring, alerting, and support tiers.
• Assess and incorporate new tools and services.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to convert requirements into actionable capabilities.
• Guide engineers and promote technical standards, documentation, and ongoing learning.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Data and AI Platform.
• 5+ years of experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering, with hands-on involvement in data and/or AI/ML infrastructure.
• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and their associated data and AI services.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency in containerization/orchestration technologies: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Skilled in at least one programming language: Python, Go, or Bash.
• Solid understanding of security and networking principles for provisioning secure cloud resources.
• Experience in operating production systems, encompassing monitoring, observability, incident response, and reliability practices.
• Capacity to set technical direction at platform scale, influence cross-team architecture and design decisions, establish standards, and mentor engineers.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Preferred: experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or biotechnology.
• Preferred: familiarity with regulatory standards such as HIPAA or GxP, compliance frameworks like SOX, and stringent data governance requirements.
