Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage scalable and effective cloud-based solutions on AWS and Azure.

• Spearhead initiatives aimed at automating cloud infrastructure.

• Collaborate with teams to incorporate best practices in development, code quality, and automation.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams on DevOps and automation methodologies.

• Contribute to cloud applications utilizing serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines through GitOps methodologies.

• Implement security best practices for authentication and authorization mechanisms.

• Monitor and enhance cloud application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Stay updated with cloud technologies, development trends, tools, and frameworks.

• Ensure systems comply with functional and non-functional requirements, as well as software design, testing, and security best practices.

• Promote continuous improvement via knowledge sharing, team reviews, and mentoring of junior developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar capacity, focused on AWS or Azure Cloud.

• Strong background in DevOps practices complemented by software development knowledge.

• Proficiency in AWS/Azure infrastructure automation.

• Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Golang, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with serverless architectures, Kubernetes, and event-driven patterns.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.

• Solid understanding of cloud security best practices.

• Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.

• Expertise in software architecture, development, and systems testing with a focus on cloud technologies.

• Capability to offer technical guidance and make solution-oriented decisions.

• Familiarity with quality gates, code reviews, pair programming, and team review meetings.

• Experience with code management and release processes, including Monorepo and Multirepo strategies.

• Understanding of functional programming principles, such as list/map/reduce/compose techniques and monads.

• Knowledge of SDLC along with DRY, KISS, and SOLID principles.

• Proficiency with ABAC, RBAC, JWT, SAML, AAD, and OIDC.

• Expertise in event-driven architecture, covering queues, streams, batches, and pub/sub systems.

• Understanding of scalability, concurrency, and distributed systems.

• Experience with cloud networking and proxies.

• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitFlow, Flux, and ArgoCD.

• High-level proficiency in at least two programming languages, such as Python, TypeScript, or GoLang.

• Experience managing Kubernetes clusters, including custom CRDs, operators, and controllers.

• Experience in building serverless cloud applications.

• Proficiency in using GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaborative development.

• Experience working within agile teams and participating in sprints.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud services; basic understanding of Azure is an advantage.

• Experience with Crossplane.io is a plus.

• Knowledge equivalent to AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional is a plus.
