Senior Claims & Litigation Paralegal – Transportation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assist with commercial auto bodily injury, catastrophic loss, property damage, and transportation litigation/claims.

• Organize immediate evidence preservation after significant incidents, including driver qualification/personnel records, ELD/HOS data, telematics/GPS, ECM data, dashcam/video footage, maintenance/inspection records, dispatch communications, bills of lading, photographs, police reports, and witness information.

• Analyze accident reports, demand packages, medical records, and claim documentation while crafting litigation chronologies.

• Under the guidance of an attorney, draft initial versions of answers, responses, affidavits/declarations, notices, motions, and various litigation documents.

• Aid in the preparation of interrogatories, requests for production/admission, subpoenas, discovery, document collection, and legal holds.

• Create exhibits, document and medical summaries, deposition/mediation materials, and trial binders.

• Maintain comprehensive litigation files and calendars, tracking deadlines for pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, motions, and trials.

• Keep concise case summaries that highlight allegations, damages, exposure, defense strategy, deadlines, and next steps.

• Collaborate with outside counsel, oversee case strategy, budgets, and deadlines, and assist in reviewing outside counsel invoices and litigation costs.

• Coordinate efforts with Claims, Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Insurance/Risk Management, and other relevant departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, claims, or as a senior paralegal.

• Strong preference for experience in trucking/transportation litigation, commercial auto liability, catastrophic loss, or insurance defense.

• Experience with a motor carrier, insurer, TPA, self-insured transportation company, or transportation defense law firm is highly preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. litigation and discovery processes.

• Proficiency in legal drafting.

• Skills in docket/file management.

• Familiarity with trucking evidence and FMCSA-related documentation.
