This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee international trademark filings, encompassing prosecution, maintenance, renewals, and communication with stakeholders.
• Draft and submit trademark applications, Madrid Protocol applications, and various prosecution documents.
• Liaise with foreign associates on trademark prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement issues.
• Analyze trademark watch notices and suggest potential enforcement strategies.
• Manage responses to office actions, oppositions, cancellation proceedings, and other trademark-related disputes.
• Create and evaluate affidavits, declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, and associated documentation.
• Support attorneys in intellectual property due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other business transactions.
• Assist in the management and enforcement of the domain name portfolio, including registrations, renewals, transfers, monitoring, UDRP proceedings, and online takedowns.
• Work in partnership with external vendors on global customs recordation and brand protection projects.
• Maintain and renew U.S. Customs trademark recordations.
• Ensure accurate trademark records and manage deadlines in Amgen’s trademark management system.
• Act as a liaison among attorneys, business clients, foreign counsel, and external service providers.
• Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of paralegal/legal assistant program or equivalent experience OR Associate’s degree with 6 years of paralegal/legal assistant program or equivalent experience OR High school diploma/GED with 8 years of paralegal/legal assistant program or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Capability to work autonomously and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Understanding of domestic and international trademark and copyright laws, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency with electronic filing systems, including USPTO and WIPO filing platforms.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and DocuSign.
• Strong understanding of electronic document management systems and trademark databases.
• Ability to meet competing deadlines and respond swiftly to urgent situations.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
