Senior Category Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Generate essential insights, solutions, and strategic as well as tactical action plans for category management that align with Dollar General.

• Act as the primary liaison for all category management initiatives with Dollar General.

• Prepare and deliver data-driven insights to both internal and external stakeholders to back sales efforts and ensure alignment on plans.

• Synthesize macro trends, shopper insights, and category fundamentals into compelling narratives that drive retailer activations.

• Formulate category strategies informed by customer research, financial results, market trends, and data insights.

• Build and maintain relationships with retailers.

• Partner with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Pricing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate directly with the Dollar General Buyer to develop planograms that meet retailer requirements and Ferrara category KPIs.

• Track category performance and financial metrics, refining plans as business conditions, customer demands, and market opportunities change.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree.

• A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in consumer goods, ideally in food or other high-velocity impulse categories (FMCG).

• Must possess experience working with Dollar General.

• Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously under stringent deadlines.

• Excellent presentation and communication capabilities.

• High proficiency in syndicated data sources (Circana, Nielsen, DG 1010 data), Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Familiarity with POG tools and retailer loyalty platforms such as Blue Yonder/JDA.

• Strong expertise in JDA software to create and modify planograms and analyze results using tables.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.
