This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Provide technical leadership in processes and products for the Investment Structural Castings commodity.
• Promote world-class performance and standard practices throughout the supply chain.
• Manage technical relationships with suppliers and guide them on GE Aerospace processes, specifications, and methodologies.
• Spearhead structured, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to uncover root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
• Enhance manufacturability through design-for-casting, clear specifications, and improvements in process capability.
• Report on progress, risks, challenges, and countermeasures to leadership and stakeholders.
• Review and authorize significant/special processes, including dimensional and metallurgical results.
• Ensure compliance with standards and qualification criteria.
• Work collaboratively with Quality and Design Engineering on new and modified processes.
• Partner with suppliers and internal teams to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers.
• Lead technical qualifications and readiness through Manufacturing and Quality Planning reviews.
• Assist with supplier Castings Audits.
• Qualify new suppliers and aid in the development and industrialization of alternative casting technologies.
• Travel to supplier facilities and internal manufacturing sites.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Materials/Metallurgy, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Casting Manufacturing.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Casting Manufacturing.
• Willingness to travel 30–50% of the time.
• Experience with Titanium and/or Nickel-based superalloy structural investment castings.
• Proficient in investment casting special processes, including wax, shell, melt/solidification control, heat treatment, Welding, HIP, NDT, and compliance with specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
• Familiarity with New Product Introduction, process capability assessments, and metallurgical evaluations.
• Experience in advancing technologies and processes.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management; ability to influence others without direct authority.
• Experience with additively enabled casting processes.
• Proficient in Siemens NX or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Ability to demonstrate U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
